How to Draw an Anime Girl Drawing Step-by-Step

Today you are going to embark on an exciting artistic journey! Our jam-packed and easy drawing tutorial will teach you how to draw an anime girl in no time. You don’t need any drawing experience to follow our easy step-by-step instructions, as we will guide you through the process of creating your very own masterpiece with confidence. Step 1: Draw the Head of Your Anime Girl Outline

To begin your anime girl drawing, draw a vertical oval shape to represent the head of your anime girl.

Step 2: Draw the Main Body

Below the head draw the main body of the anime girl.

Step 3: Add the Skirt to Your Anime Girl Drawing

Attached to the main body, draw the skirt of your anime girl.

Step 4: Draw the Legs

Draw the two legs beneath your previously drawn skirt. The left leg should be somewhat shorter than the right leg. 

Step 5: Add the Arms

On each end of the main body, draw the general shape of your anime girl’s arms. 

Step 6: Include Shoes in Your Anime Girl Drawing

Attached to the end of the legs, draw the general shape of the shoes.

Step 7: Draw the Facial Guidelines

Within the face, draw a vertical curving line and two horizontal lines overlapping the vertical lines. 

Step 8: Add the Eyes and Nose to Your Anime Girl Outline

Use the previously drawn guidelines to aid you in drawing two symmetrical eyes. To the right side of the head, draw an additional oval to represent the visible ear.

Step 9: Outline the Face

In this step, begin to outline the facial shape and main body of your anime girl.

Step 10: Add Sleeves to Your Anime Girl Outline

Attached to your previously drawn outer shirt, draw a sleeve on each side of the main body leading toward each hand.

Step 11: Outline the Skirt

Use the previously drawn construction lines to aid you in outlining a realistic skirt. Complete the step by drawing the vertical seam lines.

Step 12: Add a Tie to Your Anime Girl Outline

Draw the outer shirt seam and wrapping around the neck draw the inner shirt collar. The collar should have a tie drawn with it. Complete the step by drawing the center line with three shirt buttons. 

Step 13: Outline the Legs

Use the previously drawn construction lines to aid you in outlining the visible portions of the legs. 

Step 14: Add Socks to the Legs

Outline the tall pair of socks reaching around the previously outlined legs. 

Step 15: Outline the Shoes

Use your previously drawn construction lines to aid you in outlining a more realistic pair of shoes. Apply two additional sole lines to each shoe. 

Step 16: Draw the Shoelaces

Within each shoe, draw the shoe tongue line and along this, the crisscrossing shoelaces. 

Step 17: Add the Hair

Surrounding the head, draw the spikey-end hair surrounding the eyes and visible ear. 

Step 18: Draw the Hair Extensions to Your Anime Girl Outline

On each side of the head, draw the extended hair lines leading sideways to create a ‘blown in the wind’ effect.

Step 19: Add a Hair Hoop

Surrounding the top arch of the head, draw the hair hoop. Outline the ear but do not overlap the hair. 

Once completed, you may erase any visible and unneccessary construction lines. 

Step 20: Outline the Eyes to Your Anime Girl Drawing

Outline the eyes using the existing circles. Within the existing circles draw the pupil and the iris circles. Once completed, erase the visible guidelines. 

Step 21: Add the First Color Coat

In this step, you will start to add colors to your anime girl drawing. Select a fine, sharp brush and light cream paint, and color the face, neck, and hands of the anime girl. Using a darker shade of peach, paint the visible areas of the legs.

Step 22: Color the Hair

Use the same brush as previously and brown paint, and begin to evenly coat the hair.

Step 23: Add Color to the Shirt

Evenly coat the shirt of your anime girl sketch, leaving the cuffs white, with a thin brush and a light shade of caramel paint. 

Step 24: Color the Skirt of Your Anime Girl Sketch

With a thin, sharp brush and green paint, color the tie, backpack straps, and skirt of your anime girl drawing. 

Step 25: Add Color to the Socks, Inner Shirt, and Cuffs

Use the same brush as previously and a light shade of purple paint, and evenly coat the socks, inner shirt, and cuffs of the outer shirt. Switch to brown paint and evenly coat the top seam of the socks.

Step 26: Color the Shoes and Hair Hoop

Begin to evenly coat the hair hoop and shoes using a fine brush and gray paint. 

Step 27: Color the Eyes of Your Anime Girl Sketch

Use the same brush as previously and switch to dark brown paint, color the eyes, and trace the mouth line of your anime girl sketch. 

Step 28: Tone the Skin

Select a small, soft brush and a shade of peach paint, and add soft brushstrokes along the face, thighs, and hands. 

Step 29: Shade and Highlight the Hair

Use the same brush as previously and a darker shade of brown paint, and add soft brushstrokes to each hairline, leaving a slight visibility of the first color coat. Switch to white paint and highlight the center fringe.

Step 30: Add Highlights and Shading to the Skirt

In this step, you will add shading along the seam lines and edges of the skirt, tie, and backpack straps using a soft brush and black paint. Continue using white paint, and add fine highlights within the seam lines of the skirt, tie, and backpack straps.

Step 31: Shade the Outer Shirt of Your Anime Girl Sketch

Select a fine brush and brown paint to enhance the creases and structure of the outer shirt. 

Note! The first color coat will act as a highlight to the shirt of your anime girl drawing. 

Step 32: Add Shading to the Collar, Cuffs, and Socks

Use a small, soft brush and black paint, and add shading to the inner shirt collar, cuffs, and socks. The first color coat should still be visible.

Step 33: Shade the Shoes and Hair Hoop

Add shading to the shoes and hair hoop, with a soft brush and black paint. Complete the step using a fine, sharp brush and purple paint to add a soft glow to the hair hoop.

Step 34: Detail the Eyes of Your Anime Girl Sketch

Select a small, soft brush and a bright shade of brown paint, and fill the outer lines of the eyes. Repeat this step using tan paint. Switch to black paint, and add darker tones to the eyes. Continue the step using a fine brush and white paint for the shimmer in each eye. 

Step 35: Add a Ground Shadow to Your Anime Girl Drawing
