What Are Color Hex Codes?

To represent any particular color, color hex codes are used and are the way you can find a particular color online. This is in an RGB format that combines the values of the three main colors of red, green, and blue. These color hex codes are represented as #RRGGBB, where the RR represents red, GG green, and BB blue, and the integers used in this color hex codes system range from 00 to FF which shows the intensity of the color.

Color Hex Codes

The values range from 0 to 255 and include six-digit characters, which can be letters and numbers to identify a particular color.  Let us look at #FF0000 as an example; this is for the color pure red as it has a maximum value of FF for the red and the green and blue values are the lowest at 00. By making use of these color hex codes, you will be able to differentiate between various hues, and by simply changing the red, green, and blue values, you will be able to create any shade or hue you desire. This system is used purely for digital imaging.

However, apart from the RGB hex code color system, there is also another color system that can differentiate colors using the hex color codes system. The CYMK color system represents cyan, yellow, magenta, and black. This system is used to manage the colors for the printing industry.

Smalt

The color smalt is a moderate or medium blue that is duller and redder than copen blue, deeper, and redder than azurite or Dresden blue, and deeper and greener than luster blue. Smalt pigment is made when cobalt oxide is mixed with molten glass, and then potassium carbonate is added to work as a flux. The hot glass is then plunged into water and the shattered pieces are ground into a coarse pigment called smalt.

Unique Colors

The blue color of the smalt pigment comes from the cobalt, and because it is glass, the deep blue color is transparent and has a slightly violet undertone. Unfortunately, it has very poor covering capabilities and can change its color to brown when it is mixed in oil, which then changes the tones and colors. Rembrandt used this smalt pigment in a number of his paintings but was unaware of its changing capabilities. In the sixteenth and seventh centuries, smalt blue pigment was used by artists as a substitute for ultramarine because it was so expensive. Smalt is not only used for painting but the pigment is also used in pottery and ceramics where the surfaces of other types of glass are decorated.
